Learning Objectives

  • Learn about basic sport performance psychology principles that are fundamental to changing behaviour and optimizing performance.

  • Learn some basic applications of these principles in order to help both athletes and non-athletes move toward their training and/or treatment objectives.

Presenter

Dr. Caelin White

Caelin completed his honours degree at the University of British Columbia, his masters and doctorate degrees at the University of Manitoba, and his predoctoral internship at the Calgary Clinical Psychology Residency. In private practice, Caelin provides individually-tailored, evidence-based interventions for a broad range of difficulties in adults and adolescents, including those related to general psychological functioning (e.g., anxiety, depression, chronic pain, trauma, emotion regulation, self-esteem, life adjustment) as well as those specific to performance difficulties (e.g., focus, motivation, perfectionism, dealing with failure and loss, managing performance expectations, navigating challenging team dynamics, distress tolerance, goal-setting, time management), both in sport and corporate clientele. In his personal time, Caelin enjoys spending time with friends and family, beekeeping, camping, hiking, and running year round. He also competes in and has completed a variety of ultramarathons and ultra-endurance obstacle course races. 

Continuing Education

The Psychologists’ Association of Alberta (PAA) is approved by the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) to offer Continuing Education (CE) for psychologists. This workshop is offered for one (1.0) hours of CE Credit. Full attendance at the workshop is required to receive Continuing Education Credits. Partial credit will not be awarded, and late arrivals or early departure will preclude awarding of Continuing Education Credits. PAA maintains responsibility for the program.

Cancellation & Refund

Upon purchase, the product will be available for 90 days. Cancellation and refunds may be applied for by email or phone call to the PAA Membership Officer. Cancellations received within 24 hours of registration for the Continuing Professional Development activity will receive a full refund of the registration fee. Cancellations received within 48 hours of registration for the Continuing Professional Development activity will receive a full refund of the registration fee, less a $35.00 + GST processing fee. PAA reserves the right to cancel any activity, in which case a full refund of the registration fee will be provided. No refunds will be issued if a CE Certificate has been generated.
